Margaret Silf

Biographical Notes

Margaret Silf is a spiritual writer and retreat leader.

Although born to agnostic parents Margaret was baptized into the Methodist church where she remained until confirmation at the age of 14. Through her late teens and early adulthood she felt spiritually adrift until a personal crisis lead her back to Christianity through the Ecumenical Chaplincy at Keele University, where she was studying at the time, and at which she still worships.

Although formerly a member of the Methodist church and extensively influenced by the teachings of Catholicism Margaret considers herself a free spirit and not attached to any particular denomination.

Margaret has a B.A. from the University of London, England, and an M.A. in English from the University of Keele, England. She has studied with the Jesuits on the subjects of prayer and making the Spiritual Exercises in daily life.

She lives with her husband in North Staffordshire, England.
